Holweck Stage or Turbomolecular Rotor? Define the Component Before Ordering
Before requesting a custom Holweck-stage component, establish exactly what is being purchased. Is the inquiry for a rotating component, a stationary component or an assembly containing both? Use the approved drawing and parts list to answer this question, rather than allowing a familiar pump term to stand in for a released product definition.

The name of a stage is not a complete component definition
Leybold describes compound turbomolecular pumps as combining a turbomolecular section and a molecular-drag section in one casing, and identifies integrated Holweck stages in some of its pumps. This is industry context, not a description of every pump or of a Geetai-produced component.
Separate the pumping principle from the ordered item
Petr A. Skovorodko's research abstract examines molecular-drag stages of the Gaede and Holweck types. This is terminology context, not evidence that any particular customer's component is suitable for an operating pump.
The following matrix is original procurement guidance. Its purpose is to help a buyer resolve supply boundaries, not prescribe pump design or establish operational suitability.

Define what remains outside the order
Ask purchasing and engineering to review the same list of included items. Identify whether bearings, shafts, fasteners, coatings or assembly activities belong to the order or remain with another party. Treat each entry as a question to settle, not an assumption that a supplier can provide it.
For example, a buyer may send a model showing several mating items while asking for a quotation for only one sleeve. Mark the ordered item explicitly and label the other geometry as reference information. Request written confirmation of the supply boundary before comparing quotations.
Do not transfer interface decisions to a manufacturer by leaving them unstated. Ask the customer's responsible technical reviewer to define mating requirements and resolve inconsistencies between the part and assembly documents. Any proposed change should be submitted for approval separately from the released definition.
Turn the boundary into a reviewable handoff
Prepare a one-page cover sheet identifying the ordered item, controlled revision, related assembly, quantity, required records and excluded activities. Give each unresolved item an owner and a due stage: before quotation, before order release or before shipment. If a required decision remains open, make the quotation conditional on its resolution.
Keep application qualification distinct from acceptance of the manufactured item. An agreed drawing review does not, by itself, authorize use in an operating pump. The buyer's responsible technical authority should define the separate evidence needed for that decision.
